This Advent, the Augustine Institute invites kids to get creative
as they learn new drawing skills and the meaning of the Nativity story.

Drawing Closer to God: A Catholic Art Show for Kids is a new six-episode series that teaches children how to draw different scenes from the Christmas story. As kids follow along and learn new art skills, they also learn to see the connections between the big picture of God's story and their place within it.

Drawing Closer to God will release episodes weekly throughout Advent on FORMED, the Augustine Institute’s on-demand streaming platform.

Meet The Host

Kim Kaminski is a professional artist residing in the Archdiocese of Denver. In addition to being a productive studio artist focused on sculpture and multi-media work, Kim has opened her studio to provide summer art camps for hundreds of kids over the past 13 years. Kim has had the privilege to teach in a variety of art programs, including Creighton University and Catholic elementary schools. In 2023, Kim was able to combine her love of teaching children with her love for sacred art and Catholic tradition by hosting “Drawing Closer to God”. Kim has earned bachelor's and master’s degrees in Fine Art.
